God’s heart for every one of His children is for them to have the supernatural power to live their new life in Christ.
Jesus Christ who is God, during His earthly ministry completely relied upon the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish all that He did (John 1:29-34).
John 1:32-34 (NKJV)
And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He Who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon Whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He Who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
The apostles who were with Jesus all through His earthly ministry needed the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Jesus actually commanded them to wait for the promise of the Father (Acts 1:45). The promise was given in John 14:16 and was for them to receive the Holy Spirit, Whom Jesus referred to as ‘Another Helper’. Otherwise they could not do all the things they did after Jesus went back to heaven. All their exploits are detailed and described in the New Testament.
Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:4 (NKJV)
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
This simply means that if Jesus needed the Holy Spirit and the apostles needed the Holy Spirit, then it means every child of God needs the baptism of the Holy Spirit in order to be effective.
Luke 11:10,13 says,
“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened……If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will Your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
So, it’s really not complicated. All you have to do is Ask for it, Believe and you Receive it.

Pray this prayer: Father I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I recognize my need for Your power in my life in order to live and reign in this new life in Jesus Christ. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and by faith I receive it right now. Father, thank you that I am now baptized. Holy Spirit, you are welcome in every area of my life. Amen!
Praise God, if you truly believed God’s promise in Luke 11:10-13, then you are now a walking super power because you have been filled with the supernatural power of God.
Now in faith, open your mouth and begin to pray in the language you normally pray in and then you will begin to have a few syllables from a language you do not understand rise up from your heart to your mouth (1 Corinthians 14:14). As you begin to pray the syllables out loud, don’t try to rationalize it, just keep praying in faith, and as you pray, God’s power is being released within you and building you up in the spirit (1 Corinthians 14:4; Jude 20). You can now pray anytime anywhere.
Please note and remember, you can start praying any time and stop praying at any time because it is all within your control (1 Corinthians 14:32).
The things of God are all about faith and not the 5 senses. So, it doesn’t really matter whether or not you felt something happen when you prayed. God’s promise is that if you ask, you receive. If you truly believed when you prayed, then you have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
1 John 5:14-15 says, ‘Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked Him for.’
Please let me know in the comments if you have prayed to receive the Holy Spirit, so that we can rejoice and celebrate together.
