If you are there and you’re asking yourself if there really is a God, then this article is for you.
No matter where you are in the world, I’m pretty sure that day and night are a daily occurrence. So I want to ask you to do a small activity: Tonight, take a short walk outside your house or within your compound or just wherever you are, and find a place you can lie down facing the sky. How many stars do you see? Do you see any constellations like Taurus (looks like the bull), Orion (looks like a great hunter) or Leo (looks like the lion)? Can you spot one of the planets like Mercury, Venus, Mars or Jupiter? Bonus tip: Venus can often be seen a few hours after sunset and also just before sunrise, and will most likely be the brightest object in the sky other than the moon.
As you look at the moon, stars, planets and constellations, do you notice how well they are placed in the sky? Do you realize that the distance between the sun and the earth is just perfect, such that we can never freeze to death or burn to death. Or, that throughout the ages the same sun has given light to the whole world during the day and at night the same moon and stars light the world? That the sun, moon and stars never diminish or run out of light. All these are not new phenomena to you and I because they have been there from the beginning of time, but the thing is, we never really take time to see how truly amazing and well thought out everything is.
Do you realize that the very act of a mother carrying her child in the womb is one of the greatest miracles on earth. Biology tries to explain the process of pregnancy from conception to birth but it cannot truly explain exactly how and why it happens the way it does because it’s just a miracle. This miracle doesn’t cause itself to happen, it was thought out and instigated by someone. Somebody must have taken the time to put all these phenomena and processes together.
There is One who is supreme and greater than you and I and He created the universe and everything in it. His name is Yahweh- The LORD Our Redeemer and Salvation, He was before time began, and He created everything that you see. Genesis 1:1 begins by telling us that God was in the beginning and He created the heavens and the earth. He is the God that does great, unsearchable and marvelous things that cannot even begin to be counted (Job 5:9). There is no other God but Him and no one ever preceded Him (Job 41:11). Psalm 19:1-6, gives us the perfect revelation of God where creation is concerned. So now, you might say, but God did not create the buildings, airplanes, roads, technology or inventions that we have now, because they were invented or built by man. That’s a ‘half truth’ because in actual reality, God is the one that gave man the ability, intelligence and knowhow on how to create. Man came from God and was given the ability to create just like God (Genesis 1:26). God is an infinite creator but man is a finite creator. Therefore, no one can do anything unless God already enabled them to do it. How does He enable us to create you ask? He did this by putting the gifts and talents in each of us to create.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that God planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds. Eternity here means, a divinely implanted sense of purpose, that works through the ages or over the course of time and nothing under the sun but God ALONE can satisfy. Romans 1:18-20 reveals that all people who have ever lived and will ever live on planet earth have an innate knowledge of God. God’s word is true (Romans 3:4) and God is not a liar and has never said anything that was not true. Therefore, I put it to you that at least once in your life you have had an epiphany or realization that there is a supreme power or being greater than this world. That certain things are the way they are because someone put them there, they did not just appear or come from nothing. I also put it to you that you most likely very quickly forgot about this sudden intuitive perception.
Today I want to encourage you to spend some quiet time thinking on these things and very quietly in your heart and with your mouth ask God to reveal Himself once more to you. Then be ready and expectant to begin to experience the love and goodness of Our Almighty God.
Friend, God is so good and has been wanting to reveal Himself to you. Once you receive God’s love and experience it, it is like nothing you have ever encountered before. It is amazing, and I pray that every one of you has an encounter with God.
